

Upon the execution of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Catskill Teachers Association and the Board of Education of the Catskill Central School District dated July 1, 2000 - June 30, 2004 the Catskill Teachers Association Benefit Trust Fund was established. The creation of the Trust was official in April of 2002 and the District was no longer obligated to provide dental benefits to CTA Members as of July 1, 2002. It was now the responsibility of the Benefit Trust to provide its membership with Dental coverage equal to that previously provided by the District. This action was viewed as a significant gain by our membership and to date has allowed for the expansion of benefits at a significant savings to all members.

Declaration of Trust - creation of the Catskill Teachers Association Benefit Trust Fund. Seven trustees appointed by CTA President.
July 1, 2002
Benefit Trust Fund takes over Dental Insurance and contracts with Delta Dental to provide services.
July 1, 2003
Benefit Fund lowers payroll deduction for Dental coverage, adds the option of a two-party plan AND provides all members FREE Vision coverage through Davis Vision.
July 1, 2004
Benefit Fund decreases payroll deductions for Dental by 20% but maintains benefit level and FREE Vision coverage.
July 1, 2005
Benefit Fund maintains payroll deduction levels from previous school year and provides FREE Family Vision coverage.
July 1, 2006
Benefit Fund increases Dental coverage to $1500.00 per person in-network and raises particular benefit payment percentages. Payroll deduction amounts remain the same from the previous year.
December 2006
Benefit Fund launches website to inform and empower members!
